A faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing, known as the PDP National Progressive Youth Initiative, has issued a stern warning to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and Rep. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, accusing them of undermining the party's integrity. The group criticized Ugochinyere for his persistent attacks on Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), labeling him a "political Hushpuppi" and alleging that his actions are pushing the party towards an early demise .

The youth group contends that both Fubara and Ugochinyere are evading due process and accountability, particularly concerning the conduct of local government elections. They argue that the duo's actions are attempts to deflect attention from their administrative shortcomings .

This internal conflict highlights the ongoing power struggle within the PDP, especially in Rivers State, where allegiances to different party leaders are causing significant friction. The youth wing's outspoken stance underscores the challenges the party faces in maintaining unity and coherence amid divergent interests and political maneuvering.
